Mine might soon. They are getting brittle from the heat.

ya, make sure you didnt loose a bolt also, cuz we lost a bolt in the wagon when we went for vacation to mertyle beech and it went physco, till i found the screw under the fan, inside the plastic encloser which i forgot the name of.:buttrock

sounds like yours is a little worse then mine though

Sounds like something else is wrong...out of balance maybe?

I don't know how the 540's are set up.

Check the fan clutch, that would be #1 suspect, along with whatever the pulley in bolted to (presumably the water pump?).

Also check around under the hood and see if you have anything loose that might be hitting the fan.

Good luck man!

last time it happened i put in a new fan clutch, water pump, radiator, serpentine belts, fan shroud, and obviously the fan blade.....was hoping that would put an end to my problems but i was mistaken.

No idea...

I'd start looking for any contact places where it might be hitting other "things" in the engine bay.

Is it possible that a motor mount is going bad and the fan is rocking into the shroud?

I'm pulling stuff out of my a$$...you might want to try an expert such as Koalamotorsport.com -

Let us know how you make out- I'm curious

just replaced motor mounts too...i am def not putting a plastic fan back on there.....may be time to rig an electric fan. would help the motor rev a little quicker too :)
