When I turn my wheels all the way to the max, on either side, the power steering makes a noise. Nothing bad, probably, and nothing like the noises these things used to make in the "good ol' days" but still... Should I be concerned? Can I damage it this way?

Is it a squeek or the sound of a dry pump? If it is under warranty I would take it in. Anytime a pump that usually doesn't make a noise makes one it has a problem. A squeek is likely just a dry or loose belt but if it is another sound then there could be something internal in the pump and it will fail or leak at some point.

:rolleyes really though... that noise is your power steering pump squealing in pain. if you are turning your wheel against full lock, you're asking the p/s to help move the steering where it physically cannot go. it's simple - don't hold your wheel against full lock!

I have the same noise, thought nothing of it though...my thinking was more along the lines of S4NoMore

My previous car, an Acura, did not have this problem. I could go full lock without risk to the PS pump.

As a matter of fact, I thought this whole problem with damaging the power steering pump at full lock was resolved in the 80's.
