I took the car to the track tonight for some passes with the newfound power. I wanted to make a mild launch on the first run since I needed one more 135+ mph pass for my competition license. I ran a 10.1@151 mph with a 1.67 60' which got me where I needed! I turned up the boost for the second pass and dialed up the staged boost but bit off a little more than I wanted. You will see in the videos that the car got pretty sideways twice. It still went 10.5@137 mph with a slightly harder launch. I cooled the car off but they closed the track before I could make another run. Videos and pics coming soon.

My next "road trip" i'm heading east! Why don't we just go east when there is a BMW function next year? I'll bring the racecar. This could be fun,we need to visit CC anyways and return the favor of him comming out here. This time CC can be sick (strep throat) when I show out there. LOL ///J.T.///

Mike, Killer MPH good stuff bud. ///J.T.///

I'm pretty sure its a decel setting in the cal. It only happens on in boost throttle lifts.

You definitely need to come up here for a small vacation to hang out at the track, watching these cars rocket down the quarter is an experience all in itself. The road course is great and where my passion is but this is certainly fun :D

Mike, set-up the anti-lag to engage when you push in the clutch. Sounds like you could get some more time by not waiting for the turbo to spool back up in between shifts.

Sounds SICK

Sounds SICK

If he does that using the factory clutch switch it'll have the car in antilag until very very very high in the pedal travel, meaning he won't be able to launch proper as he slips the clutch because it'll still be in antilag.

LukeG
09-15-2009, 11:02 PM
My clutch grabs pretty high, and switch is past the disengagement point. But either way, i'm sure it can be modified in <2hrs. Or install a seperate switch/make it into a clutch stop.

It was hooked up like that 3 years ago but the flat shift is currently disabled. I will re-enable it when I get the car more sorted. Right now I'm making sure the drive train will hold up to the new power. My shifter has some slop and the last thing I want to do is 1 - 2 - 1 at the track. That run I let off twice because it was breaking the tires loose. When it spun the middle of 4th it was interesting.

I hooked up my flat shift to my ac switch on my clutch pedal and its extremely annoying and takes alot of getting used to. i usually rest my foot on the clutch pedal and i am constantly antilaging on accident.lol Too bad my motor didnt last long enough to realy test out the flat shifting at the track.:(

You really want to get the switch height dialed in to take advantage of the system. Then you have to train yourself to not lift off the throttle while rowing through the gears.

He does a good job. I didn't know he had so much footage of the car.

151 is nice, but 158+ is better :D

I just found a huge tear in my ICV hose. Boost leaks suck for making MOPOWA. I have a kart race this coming weekend but I'll be back to the track again after some fuel system revisions, a different wastegate spring, and some other changes.
