i really need some help on removing this center driveshaft support bearing..

i need my car running real soon and im stuck here.

i have a 3 tooth jaw puller on the bearing and i turned many times now it wont budge. its very tight, with all my weight i cant get it to move.
i tried a hammer, a hammer and chisel, and this jaw puller

am i doing it wrong?
i hope it wont be this hard to put it back on!

i've searched all over, every forum, google, idk where else to turn

It's a bitch. I had my local shop remove it and install the new one. Some jobs can suck so much I would actually have someone else do it, and then pay for it. This is coming from someone who just pulled their motor.

Lucky for you/me/everyone, we don't have to remove 10 things to get stuff done like with the newer cars. In time you won't think it's too bad to work on, at least most stuff.

Yep, an external circlip. The bearing is a loose interference fit, you can easily knock it off with a hammer and punch working around the perimeter. Be careful not to bugger up the splines. The dust shield in my opinion is redundant as the bearing is sealed and resides in a protected area. I've reinstalled them only to have them spin freely on the spline causing a noise that sounded like a bad bearing.
No need to remove the rear half of the shaft for this job, watch the match marks on the shaft.

i should just pull the BEARING and not the backing plate? it seems REALLY stuck up on there.

you didnt mention so im guessing you didnt try but use some heat. go get some mapp gas(costs bought the same but heats alot faster than propane) or propane if you cant find it. go to home depot or menards or whatever you got by you and theyll have it. metal expands when you heat it so get the inner race(the part thats splined to the shaft) good and hot and then start using the puller. make sure your not binding it up on the shaft though, or youll never get it off.good luck

i actually got it off. without heat, i just used the jaw puller and hammering away.

BUT i used a piece of pipe to put the new one on. and the pipe was a little to big and i crushed the earing a tad. now it barely spins freely. so i need a fu***** new one!!

gawdd..
