I am getting some neffy wrap to do my interior trim and I was hoping someone could offer some pointers on removing the trim so I can avoid breaking pieces or the clips.
Things to remove:
shifter surround (is this a continuous piece up to the sides of the obc?)
rear ash tray
glove box trim
Will gently tugging get the job done or is there more to it? TIA

Bentley describes taking out the center console. There are also a bunch of DIY's here. Just search for Remove e36 Center console. Plenty of stuff will turn up. its not hard at all.

Don't pull on the center console, there is no clip.
You have to remove the arm rest, shift boot, hazard button, sunglass case, OBC, then 2 screws to remove the center console.
