Hey guys, I hope you can help me.

Today, I shut down my 328i's engine, and pressed on the key fob to release it, but nothing happened. I eventually pulled it out manually. Now I have to apply a lot of force just to put it back in, and when it does go back in, the car does not sense that the key is in there. So now my car can't start. I have tried both the actual FOB and the backup one. Same problem.

Is the actual socket broken? Do I have to take it back to the dealership?

EDIT: i tried it about 20 times and now it seems I forcefully put it back into place. It somehow works now.

But now the locking system on the drivers door broke, it will lock after 2-3 tries, but will only open manually.

Had the car for 2 weeks, and I'm already getting flooded with problems. Starting to regret buying it.

It sounds to me like the key holder has malfunctioned. Ask the dealer to have it replaced and it should resolve your key fob issue.

The drivers door lock sounds like a separate issue that just happened to occur around the same time. It will likely require replacing the drivers door lock actuator. Be warned that if you keep using the central locks it will blow a fuse and the complete central locking system will stop working due to a blown fuse.
