I've owned my e36 since Aug 07, had a swap to a 525i engine at 85k (due to a blown e36 head gasket this was cheaper and easier then replacing my 180k e36 engine gasket) and it has run fine until now. I have had a cold intake for a long time with no issues.

PROBLEM: It runs fine cold, idle varies between 1000 - 1100rpm steady at cold and it warms to 600-800rpm. When I drive about 20mins freeway to work and hit the off ramp she will start to hesitate trying to find an idle point and will just dip and start bobbing terribly but no stall.

After leaving the stop light she will accelerate but stop (on each gear) and sit there moving 1/2 speed and then the intake/engine area will pop 1-3 times and she will run fine for awhile until it repeats itself.

NOTE: I pull the oil cap, there is no change in idle to me and I have leaking oil on shut down slightly. This was suggestion that it was the CCV being an issue, I do not see a CCV since the engine swap, I pulled all hoses from the crank case (front most anyway) and cleaned 2x. I see NO ccv unit. The crank case hoses I have go to the intake and to the intake boot straight through with no CCV, however they are clean..... Where is the CCV on this 525??????

What I have tried:
Checked all hoses, and replaced my boot to the intake which was slightly cracked (NO CHANGE)

I pulled and cleaned the ICV and Mass Air Sensor before about 3k miles ago before all this, and I pulled it again and it is still metallic and relatively clean. I have not checked the MAS again. I also clamped the hoses to the ICV to insure proper connection to it. I replaced one hose 3k miles ago from the ICV to a heater hose since the unit I had was cracked slightly and I had heater hose avail. This is also clamped to the intake boot piece and ICV.

The valve to the intake was pulled and replaced with a tighter fitting unit and the hose the the ICV from the intake was inspected.

I sprayed every bit of piping including the manifold connection to the engine with Carb Cleaner to get her to stall. Nothing stalled her.

Replaced cold air filter and re tightened all duct work of the cold air piece by piece.

COULD it be 02 sensors because of the warm activation of this problem?

PLEASE HELP, I can't deal with this anymore

Lol!!!

It's funny the E36 guys come here for real help after all the
non-sense troubleshooting they get on their board.

Once again it is not a e36 at heart....

and man if your gonna laugh at me coming here to ask for help, at least help with some comment or suggestion. :(

so far its 5 to one in favor of the e36 side so prove me wrong. Help me learn the e34 guys.

TO ADD: Today I accelerated on the onramp, sputtering, and flooring it with no throttle response. I floored it and she continued to decelerate down to 50, had to pull off for about 20 seconds, intake popped and drove fine to work and back with no idle fluctuation.

Spray some carb cleaner around all vacuum lines, intake manifold etc, and see if your idle changes. You might just have an air leak

As I said in my beginning post, I did that, anything else?

Sorry i didnt read you post. You might just have a faulty ICV try replacing it with a known good one. There are too many factors that are in play(FPR, FP,etc), so I'd start off with that.

Wait, you checked the coil packs right?

Coolant temp sensor maybe
