View Full Version : Anyone running a JB3 (Juice Box 3)?

I just installed an aFe cold air intake stage II and two air scoops inside the grill. I just stumbled upon the JB3 chip and it seemed to good to be true. Specifically, I'm looking for the JB3 stage III because of its feature of being able to control the mapping from the car and the most hp and tq gain (80 & 80 according to Juice Box Performance). I like to get the story from real drivers though before I install something. Does this chip deliver what it claims and how reliable is it? Any problems with it? Also what's a good price for it because Juice Box wants like $550. Thanks guys :)

I don't own it but I have driven it. The claims are real and the price is reasonable.

The reality is that BMW is aggressively trying to revise their coding to render JB3 and other piggy back controllers not only useless, but easily detectable. Pony up the cash, and you can take advantage of Dinan or BMW products that offer a limited warranty, but also limited gains.

Check out e90post for detailed evaluations of this product and others. You have to find it yourself because I am not linking to a competitior! lol

how long do you think the update will take to develop? plus would i be able to decline the upgrade from BMW or would they refuse to work on the car? Also, do you think Juice Box will update the chip to bypass the new software (at one point or another?)

Buddy, it's a computer. Eventually BMW will spend more than you, hire better software composers (15 year olds), and they will win. Live with what they gave you and lie about what you have, that is what 90% of the boy racers out there are doing and it's a lot cheaper.

You need to live with what they give you or lie about what you have or get something they approve of. Research, research research.
