I just put 18x.8.5 rims on my car with 235/40/18 tires and I'm finding going around traffic circles I'm rubbing and even going around fairly relaxed curves in the road at 60kms/h I'm rubbing. The clearance looks fine though when I check them out, and I'm running stock suspension.
Could they be rubbing against something else? Any good tricks to find out where there rubbing, like baby powder on the tire or something?

what is the offset of the rims? do you hear the rubbing coming from the back or the front?

We'll need to know the offset.
Even without knowing it though, I'm gonna say you're rubbing the struts in the front.

mine have a 20 offset (E36 is 46) my tires rubbed on corners on the inside fender liner. I just cut a small square of the fender liner away where it was rubbing, and it no longer rubs.

I'm fairly positive its rubbing in the back, right in the top/middle against the inside lip of the fender. Fairly certain my front's are ok, but my buddy managed to screw the car up so I haven't been able to drive it to find out. I can't even get two fingers between the fender and the tire at the point I'm referring to. But my directions are crap, here's pictures of exactly where I think it's probably rubbing. Feel free to tell me the rims look nice to help ease my stress.

Any way I can test if the struts are rubbing/remedy that problem? And randomy, can you be a little more specific about what you did, a picture would also be great if possible. I'm stressed as I'm going to be driving for about 4 hours in a few days with a car full of things I'm moving with.

youre rubbing where the back bumper meets the rear fender, you have to cut that plastic lip in the inside
