The Bimmer was giving me grief this morning . The car would crank and almost catch to but would then die after a second. On about the fifteenth try, the engine finally turned over and rumbled to a rough idle.
Here are the vitals.
• 1995 325i sedan, automatic, 130k miles
• Last night was the first cold night this summer (35° and lots of condensation).
• Battery had plenty of charge as the starting cranks were normal and rapid (it's a newer Optima).
• Starter seemed to catch normally.
• When engine finally turned, the engine "coughed" quite a bit before running.
The only similar problem I've had to this was on a motorcycle with bad coils. Any guesses?
Thanks!
I'm thinking this might be coil-related. Any other guesses?
Nothing?
