So i was driving to a friends house today and saw a BMW like no other.
It wasn't tricked out or anything but i just have never seen it and im thinking it may be a rare car or something.
The car was white in color and the back was plain, it had no numbers indicating a model or anything, it just had the emblem and the tail lights were long horizontally.
The front end had the headlights to where you have to flip them open, so in the day there pretty much are no lights showing. The front almost kind of reminded me of like a Ferrari Enzo. It sounded like it had a V8.
The car did not look old at all.
Please help me out and if you may know what kind im talking about, it would be a great help
Thanks!

You saw either an E31, 840 (V8) or an 850 (V12)

The 850Ci was actually a 5.6litre V12. It was actually tampered with by the M division and the closest production car to what would be thought of as a ///M8.
There was a 550hp M8 made, but only one and was not even finished. Not even any headlights and I doubt they actually would have made a gearbox at that time that could handle the power and torque comming from that V12.
Oh and just a fun fact. The McLaren F1 actually uses the same V12 from the E31 / E38 but obviously tampered with properly by the M division. McLaren themselves apparently made the gearbox :dunno
If you are now looking for E31's. My personal opinion is to go with the M62 V8 engine with the Steptronic gearbox. These engines came in the 840i in 1996 upwards. The M60 was has Nickle and Silicone content and the high sulfur in US petrol used to cause compression problems.
The V12's only really have about an extra 30hp if that. So it's really a waste of what could have been an amazing engine. It costs a hell of alot more to maintain as well not just in the engine department but suspension, bushings, etc.

Actually the 5.6 v12 was in the 850 CSi which was done by the motorsport division.
The 850 Ci was the same motor as the 750.

No it's the S70 that the McLaren has and also what the 850CSi has.

No it's the S70 that the McLaren has and also what the 850CSi has.Wrong...The BMW V12 in the F1 is a completely different engine from the ground up..Look it up. They say it's a S70 but it won't even fit in a E31 chassis..This has been discussed several times in many forums..McLaren wanted to use the existing BMW V12 but I believe they couldn't get the power they needed..So they designed a new V12.. They may claim it's a S70, but it isn't..

There was an 860 made by Powerplant Racing.

yes...there was an 850 that someone (I think more than one person/company did a similar set-up) modified and put an 860 badge on, but it was never a BMW model.
Also the CSi commands a significant premium over and 850 or 840 which do have similar performance figures. The difference between the 850i and Ci was merely a year thing...although I don't know which years.
I think they are pretty cool, unique and I bet they turn a lot of heads. I'd love one with a manual transmission...preferrably the v12...just to have the sound of one :)

Not true. The only thing they share is that they are both v12s. The Mclaren essentially uses the engine design of the euro s50. The stroked M70 in the 850csi (and regular M70 for that matter) has one of the worst flowing designs of BMW history for horsepower even by 2 valve design standards, although it makes fantastic torque all around, much like the current 335i motor. Great for a reliable, comfortable GT car, which is exactly what the e31 is.

PowerPlant Racing BMW "860i"
Race car tuner PowerPlant racing of North Carolina, USA produced the most powerful Naturally Aspirated 8 series BMW. This was done by increasing the displacement of the M70 V12 engine to a 6.0L capacity.
This conversion changes the stroke of the engine from 73 mm to 86 mm, the bore from 84 mm to 86 mm and the compression ratio from 8.8/1 to 10/1. The 6.0 conversion on a stock rebuild makes 405 hp (302 kW) & 425 ft·lbf (576 N·m) of torque. However, there are add on options of this program that increases the specifications to 455+ HP and 500+ ft·lbf (386 HP and 409 ft·lbf (555 N·m) torque at the wheels) that is emission legal with completely civilized, stock drivability.[6] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_8_Series#cite_note-5)[7] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_8_Series#cite_note-6)
There were only 7 of the 6.0L conversions done for the E31 (BMW 8 Series). The power output was verified by several chassis dyno (refer to Dyno Chart (http://860.sentineltech.net/Records/2007-06-23%20-%20CDA%20RWHP-RWTQ%20Dyno.pdf)).
