That is sad. I have a buddy who has a Chevy dealership. Liquid glass is poured into the engine, seizing it in 2 minutes.
The car is then sold to authorized junkyards and is held for 3 months, or until completely parted out, whichever comes first, then crushed.

Wow, those cars in the first one are pretty bad, I hate to say it but I kind of like the fifth one, the yellow one. That cash for clunkers 325i wasn't even that bad.

Seems like a terrible waste of resources... I've been in some poor places in the world and been amazed at how much ingenuity the worlds poorest have, they would find a purpose for every piece of those vehicles.
Are they eventually melted down for the steel or how does that work?

i guess they're eventually sold to the scrap yards for metal recycling...

i agree its a shame I was in the Dominican Republic last month and the majority of their cars run on propane I took a bunch of pics I had never heard of that before thought it was creative but probably very unsafe.

This is my thought also.
"Let's con the American people into taking loans they likely can't afford. How can they refuse, we'll give them double what their car is worth to lure them in. This will stimulate the loan and car industries that have been hammered on."
WIN WIN right? WRONG!!! At least IMO. One thing is for sure, many people furthered their slavery to debt. :(

Well the gov. is just trying get buyers to by into new cars to help the economy. If more people are buying cars, then car companies will meet there quota and people will keep their jobs, and their stocks will go up and people will lose less money in the stock market. Also people will be taking out loans for the cars and it will help the banks. Thats how we get out of recession, is by buying stuff. Although the plan is short sited, its just to try to get the economy running and to get old cars off the road that are mostly junkers anyway. And they recycle all the cars for scrap. Like I said the program is defiantly a bandaid on the problem. Also its not like the people are being forced to get new cars, but hell if i looking for a new car and someone wanted 4500 for my 328is as a trade in.. i would of probably take the offer. I am not saying that we should all dump our cars and get new ones, I my e36 and never plan on selling, but to someone that is going through the brunt of the problems these cars can have, 4500 towards a new car with no problems looks temping. Just another point of view.
Also those e36's in the first video are disgusting and should be sent to the scrap yard.
Pretty much all of the cars in there were disgusting, some looked at least partially photoshopped. Others, just straight hideous, and then e36PWR's car showed up and I was pissed, that's just wrong. Its not exactly how I would mod my car buts its a goddamn clean mauritius with some smoked lighting. A very rare few I recognized from the DTM power days and I know they can move but they rightfully belonged in the vid. The rest are just atrocious.

In the 1980's the British Morgan was sold in the U.S.A. to run on propane. Only way they could meet emissions.

in fiji on some island they ferment coconuts to make 100% ethanol or close to it, in their back yard they set up a dodgy lab/process area and they run everything on it, tractors, cars, pickups, trucks, generators anything that runs on fuel, they dont even modify the engines to run on it, straight in the tank and away you go, i was watching some documentary a few years back and was amazed at their ingenuity

Reminds me of a guy that completely redid his honda civic body to look like a STI. He had it nearly 100% matched down the the details... complete waste of money/body work.

destroying the motor thing makes sense in my mind. But destroying the rest of the car is a horrible idea. Why not re-use what you can? Or create a replacement, more efficient, power plant for the cars that had non-efficient motors?

The silver E36 that shows up as the preview of the first video looks AMAZING. Might not be everybody's taste but the fitment is on point.
