Only Fresh Air From A/C, Help!

Hello everyone,

I have a '94 325IS and the a/c works great minus the recirculation. Im tired of getting exhaust smell from the outside so I need to figure this out. I read that the flap motor could be stuck so I wanted to know If I can manually just switch it to recirculate so I dont have to buy/replace the motor. Also, where is the motor located?

If it means anything my heater does not work either.

Also its the the analog a/c system not the digital.

Atleast you get fresh air.. All I get is constant hot air :(

It sounds like the motors are shot. There is no way to manually adjust them. They have to be replaced. Its not that bad a job. you just have to remove a couple dash panels.

So my flaps or whatever are shut and I'm only recirculating the air inside the car? I was wondering why even on cool nights the air coming in was hot.

^^ I read there is another flap for hot/cold might be stuck on hot. I may be wrong.
