My 6 first started to sputter, I thought that my in tank fuel pump was going out, if not gone. The she started to die when decelerating, would start right-up and run fine. (Still thinking fuel pump). But the other day when driving home from work, when it would sputter and I noticed it would blow black smoke from exhaust. Anybody ever had the same issue and if so what was the fix. Changed out FPR, O2 sensor, plugs, rotor, coil, and distributor cap, less than a year ago.

Sounds like your engine management computer ... or one of the sensors is going off loudly affecting it's RF shielded brain board and it's rebooting so when you start it again it's fine for awhile...

Could be a faulty cold start injector, disconnect the sensor.

Could be a faulty throttle body position sensor.

if it is on decel, it is bad valve guide seals in the head. guaranteed..
