Hey guys,
Any ideas on my floor price for a 2007 335? Has following options:
Sports package (no premium :()
Navigation
Ipod Auxilery (is this the Ipod/USB option?)
Keyless Entry
18" wheels (chromed)
Asking is around $34K.

The best thing to do is use an on-line source. Kelley Blue Book, Edmunds, sites with vehicles for sale, ebay, autotrader, etc. Get a feel for the value. Anything you get here is a speculation, anecdotal or a sample size of one.

Thanks JHunter - that's what I thought but just thought I'd send some feelers here well. I assume bimmerforum members are the most knowledgable about pricing, and perhaps one of us struck an amazin deal?
I was originally planning to by a used 2008, but the price difference betwen a used 2007 and 2008 is huge. What a difference a year in depeciation can make. I also think it's mental - people naturally remember last year so a car "seems" newer, but two years ago? 2 Year ago seem like an eternity.

The BEST way is to just check ebay/Auto trader and look what it's selling for. People here probably don't know what others paid, or maybe got a good deal that's not available for everybody.

My best piece of advise is...CHECK kelly blue book and look at your budget as well....I used AUTOTRADER.COM to look for cars. I have a navigation with iDrive...Ipod connection, coral red leather seats....I also bought my with CPO - CERTIFIED PREOWNED - what this means you get an additional warranty for 2 years or 100,000 miles whichever one comes first. For me....this is a MUST especially if you are buying a USED CAR. If you get a car with CPO gives you a piece of mind that the car you are buying is in good shape and not a salvage or auction car with several problem.

I got my 07 335i coupe last month and I paid 32900 (before taxes) for cold/sport/prem, navi, ipod kit, with 19000 miles =D.
I think I did pretty well.
Oh yeah, it's space gray, and black interior w/gray poplar.
They DID have mismatched tires in the front, but I was gonna change those out anyways, and no spare key. Had to wait two weeks for it to be shipped from LA to Seattle =( Other than that, it's in pretty damn good condition.

hey guys, I'd been looking for a 1-2 year old BMW 3 series and I can tell you, the market for luxury cars ($30k+) is very soft. Dealers are selling cars at or below KBB private party. Either Edmunds/KBB prices are insanely high, or sellers are taking a beating. I have seen used, clean BMWs sitting for 2-4 months, and then the dealer reduces asking prices to below KBB private party, they still won't sell. I bought a 2008 328i for $1000 under KBB trade-in, from a dealer. It was very clean, no problems at all. I would say it's a 9.7/10 car.
The same is true for Lexus and Infinitis in this price range.
If you're in the market for a $15k to $22k car gas-sipper (Toyota, Honda, Chevy etc), then you'll pony up the bucks because the inventory on those got sucked dry because of Clunkers. But the luxury segment is still living the recession

Hello All
I’m currently in the NYS area, I’ve trying to acquire a new ’09 328ix drive vehicle
for the pass 7 months now, all the dealerships I’ve gone to just been giving me the ran-around. The specs I’m looking for are the following:
Color: Black Sapphire Metallic, Black Dakota Leather interior, Walnut trim
Steptronic transmission (205), Premium Package (ZPP), Cold weather(ZCW)
Ipod Adapter, All weather mats.
Its been unreal to locate this vehicle for the right price. Which leads me to my next
question, What would be fair price to start negotiating this vehicle at ?
Not sure why it been so difficult to work with BMW these days.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. :help

Hello All,
I am currently looking for a CPO 335i 2007 sedan. I have been talking to local dealers in my area (Phoenix), and also in the SoCal area. Anyone with some experience negotiating with dealers in this region on the 2007 335i sedan CPO? I am looking for sport, premium and logic 7 sound system..miles preferably below 30K. Any suggestions/advice from the members on this? 1 of the dealers has been asking for $31k (plus ttl) on the 335i with similar options...they say the price has been reduced from $35K to $31K. I was wondering if there is still room for lowering the price? If I could get them to sell the car for $29K + ttl, it would work for me.
Thanks in advance.
- Nate.

We looked at several 2007's in the last month before finally buying an '08 -- the 07's were in the price range from $27,750-32,000 asking, some of them were either CPO or other extended warranty. Price range included large dealers, small specialized dealers, and private parties. That's in the San Francisco bay area. We were looking for the same mileage as you.
I think below $30K is a pretty good price in this area, especially if it has an extended warranty.
One thing to watch out for, if you care, is that many of the 2007 models did not come with the auxiliary oil cooler. It's a $2500 item if you want to add it, unless you can talk BMWNA into doing a free retrofit. See the oil cooler threads for more info. The ones we looked at were a mixed bag, some had it, some didn't. All had the sport package, so the claim you hear from some that "sport package all had the cooler" clearly is not correct.
Regards,
Bob

Do a google search for "BMW 335i oil cooler" and read up on the issue. Lots of posts in Bimmerforums, as well. **SOME** people have experienced overheating and "limp home" mode on the twin-turbo engines that didn't get the auxilliary cooler installed. Many others have seen no problems. It seems to depend on how you drive the car, and maybe on your particular engine.
All cars with the sport package were supposed to get them, but many of the 2007 build dates, especially early ones, did not. BMWNA takes the position that, unless your specific car experiences the problem, they don't do a free retrofit. Some people have managed to get one, anyway -- they evidently make individual decisions on a case-by-case basis.
My take is, we like to drive fast and push the car, and we do a fair bit of desert driving. I wanted the additional safety margin provided by the oil cooler.
Easy to see if there is one installed, or not -- look in the front passenger-side wheel well, toward the front and in. If it's there, you will see a grille with what looks like a miniature radiator behind it. That's the auxiliary oil cooler. If you don't see the "radiator", but just a vent, then you are looking at the brake air duct, and there is no oil cooler installed.

Bob

Hmm, I put around in my 335 ;) I really don't push it that hard on a regular basis - love just cruisin around in it.

Why bother paying for the sports package then? unless you like the seats and I don't blame you if that is the case.

Hah, yeah - that and I just love the look. Don't get me wrong, I do hammer it every once in awhile on the highway, but typically I just drive nice and easy. I know - materialistic, but I just love the way the beamer looks with the sporty profile! I'll always get sports package - even when I'm 90!

I just picked up a '07 (late production) 335i from auction. Sport, brushed alum int, w/ oil cooler upgrade, only 8000 miles. $28.5K. Guy I bought if from is throwing in glass tinting and buffing.
Bittersweet day as I just turned in my '06 330 with only 18K miles back to dealer. Buyout was $27,900 which I thought was about 3 grand too high. So I feel like to made out pretty well with an engine upgrade, less miles, more warranty for virtually the same price.

Sounds similar to my deal. blk/blk 335i sedan ,manual ,sport ,premium, heated seats, comfort access(I love this!!!!!!!), iPod hookup, aluminum trim. 26k mi, $27.5. Bought from independent dlr , no cpo.
I have an in law that is a Mercedes salesman and he has said used cars have gone up in price the last year or so. Makes sense as I paid $31,700 for my '07 (sport, prem, manual) with 16k miles in January 2009.

I've recently updated my search to include 335i's. Did some research on kbb and this one comes in at 31k. Dealer has it for 29.9
http://bmw.motorwerks.com/BMW-Certified-Preowned.aspx?InventoryId=31585966
I've found a few 335i's closer to NJ listed for 3-4k less. Is this one on par or appraised high?

love that color in the coupe. I would pay an extra grand or two to have that color being as it's kinda rare.

The only thing missing is the sport package - oil cooler... I would fly out and purchase the car if an oil cooler was installed. With 08's coming in soon, I will wait until I find somewhat of a perfect match.
