OK I was changing my headlight switch backlight bulb, easy enough right? Not, the old one broke off in the socket. So I drilled out the old one, then the new one jammed, so broke that one out and drilled it out.

Got a new bulb in there, now it still does not back light the headlight switch and my driver's side parking lights do not work. The passenger ones work fine, all the fuses look fine.

Should have left well enough alone! Thanks in advance bf.c!

EDIT My headlights do not work either, and I get a check control on the dash with the OBC saying Talight Lamp Bulb Failure.

You probably drilled the crap out of the contacts.

For the Tail Light bulb failure warning, check to see the bulbs are tight in the socket.
You can bend the contacts enough to hold securely.

Tail light bulbs are tight. According to the schematic in the Bentley, the OBC check failure point is between the headlight switch and rear left tail light harness, this is hopefully the reason I am getting the Tail light bulb failure on the OBC.

Drilled only the lense on the switch surround that melted from the previous bulb being too hot, so the switch was screwed from the start, but if I left it alone I would be better off! Contact points in the tunnel of the bulb holder for the headlight switch backlight on the side of the switch were still in tact.

Ordered a new switch hopefully it gets it done.
