how is the "non-s"? I test drove the S. Contemplating leasing one as my Daily driver, preserving the M a bit. Not sure after driving the S how I'll feel about the NA model. Thoughts?

I drove a non-S before buying the S. The non-S felt fun, tight, and go-cartish. If you aren't looking for EXTREME power, I don't think it will be a problem. I chose the S because I am not planning on selling soon (you know, the "last car I buy" syndrome) so I loaded it up, no regrets.

BTW, my other car is a 2002 M Roadster. The 2 are so dissimilar that you just don't compare them while driving. The worst things about swapping between the two is that to close the windows on the MCS, you have to hold the switch in the up position. And the door pull...you have to double pump them in the MCS to get out, and of course the M doesn't have these "features."

Don't worry, you will have fun with either MINI.

ill try to get some interior shots of it soon. its kinda messy though, and you guys will be disappointed in the "slush box", but its got 'triptronic' or whatever they call it, which is very fun :)

btw- the non-s has decent power and is VERY fun to drive around. takes the twisties better than my old 318i did, and it wasnt stock. the cooper is stock and will stay stock for the most part. considering it is my moms lol.

only complaint i have about it is that the gas guage isnt very noticable. i almost ran out of gas the other day in it. i click the little "range" button and it says "0 miles" then turns into three dashes (---). im like "OH SHIT!!" and i was on the highway with no gas station in sight. luckily the next exit had one 2 miles down the road heh. THANK GOD THIS THING DOESNT EAT GAS!!!!
