I put them in my older Nissan 240sx.. didnt really notice anything.. I wouldnt bother with them personally. And also... most of us here dont have ignition wires we need to change.. ;)

Well... I don't think you'll notice a difference between regular ignition wires and high performance ignition wires ... unless ... you are running some insance amount of voltage for NOS or forced induction.
However... ignition wires tend to break down over time. They are supposed to be changed after 60k or 80k can't remember which. Afte r a certain period of time, they don't carry the necessary energy anymore to make a proper spark, plus sometimes the boots become try and crack can cause premature arching to the chassis of the car.
Replacing them may yield extra power in your car since it's older.

Here's the test.
I don't recommend doing this to a hot motor.
Start the car and spray water from the hose onto the ignition wire rail and plug boots. If the motor stumbles, you need new wires. If it doesn't, you don't. Doing it in low light will help you spot any arcs.

and try to avoid reaching for one of the wires when the car is running, it will arc to your finger and it will hurt like a muther! Ask me how I know...

Oh timers, the wires will help if you have alot of miles on the current set. Dont expect large horsepower out of them. They will mainly help idle quality and throttle response. Basicly smooth things out. I put a set of Magnecor on my 318 and the definitely smoothed things out.
If you have a cap and rotor setup, then keep the rotor and terminals inside the cap clean. This will help alot too.

Heh. When we were doing spark testing on my MG, Blue Thunder paused and said, "Oh, and make sure you always use pliers with insulated grips. Trust me, I know..." I guess that came as a shock to him at some point. (har har...)
