I can easily picture me in a large parking lot scratching my head, :dunno wondering why can I get the door opened??? :biglaughb
It's difficult to tell from the angle of the pic, but are your rims the same?
After seeing your pictures, I had to post some of mine... :drink1 BTW... any clues on how to get pics to show on your signature??? TIA.

Yeah, I have the same 15" rims w/winter H rated tires (bough the car from St Louis, MO) Saving up for 18" M-parallels.
On putting pics in the sig you have to code the address of the pic (meaning it has to be hosted somewhere. I used cardomain.com) in your sig, like this (ignore quotes):
'[img']http://www.yourcarpicaddress.com/sweet540.jpg[/img']'
Nice car, any mods? Mine has the custom cupholders from bavauto and the center console tray above the shifter. I'm about to put on some other stuff as you can see in my sig. Keep in touch if you need any advice! :)

Thanks for the info. - just great...now I won't be getting anything done at work today :)
As for Mods :buttrock I have been spending all my money on general maintenance (inspection 2 b.s.) and fixing stuff, so unfortunately I haven't had any extra bread for mods. But x-mas is just around the corner :) Larger rims would be nice... I especially like the ones on shragon vehicle and the front end of the car is sweet looking!
Do you have any close ups of the cup holder and tray?? I have a cup holder on the drive door-not sure if factory- but it never stays closed. So I need something different. TIA.

Here's the cupholders (not my car, pic from Bavauto)
You can find it at Bavauto.com for $71.95 and they match your interior color! Part #: MW E34/32-D

i like that console tray. is it lined with felt or something? or just all plastic?
rwindleyme02
09-03-2003, 02:18 PM
It's lined with felt. I like it too. I keep my Sunglasses, pen and cell phone in it. Only thing is, when you're drive hard, the felt doesn't cut it in terms of keeping grip on the items. They end up on the passenger seat. I think what I may do is get some of that material they advertise to hold things to your dash, and cover over the felt with that.

See I told you I would waste my day away at work :D
gotta agree with Shragon...the tray is sweet :redspot
And I like the cup holders, but I have a factory car phone installed in that area...so I am SOL... I guess I could temporarily remove the phone....hummm????
Thanks for the photos!
I hope this signature thing worked.... :95

:complain Okay...I am really getting frustrated....
I uploaded my pic at the cardomain web site...but still don't know how to get the image to appear in the signature. I right clicked on the pic and tried to use the link and image location...neither worked. :help Please.

Thanks...as you can see I am getting closer... now I just need to figure out to enlarge the image...
Yeah, my phone is functional. I don't have an account, but I did find out I could if I so desired. On the positive side, as long as the phone works I can always use it in a 911 emergency. Hope I never need it!

I was just looking at the pic of the tray I got from Pacific BMW and realized it isn't the same as mine. Reason being, there must be two different kinds - One for cars w/ASC and cars w/o.

which p/n for without asc?

I guess I'll pipe in here also. My car looks exactly like both of yours! I am working on the paint right now. When I bought it, the paint was oxidized. I waxed it but all the flaws came back. I am a total newbie on how to take care of paint. I went out and bought a clay bar and that helped a TON. However what is the next product I should use to remove the oxidation? I have an orbital buffer that I bought from Sears a long time ago. Never even used it. I'm hoping that I can buy quality pads for it.
Anyhow, great looking cars guys! I'll try and get a camera and take some pics of my own.

Hey hex, are you sure yours is a '94? It has the '95 grill.

Chazz, go over to the show & shine forum for tips on oxidation. Mine doesn't have any, but here is my list of how to get your car's paint in good-looking shape.
1) Clay - Autopia Glide, Block & Waffle Detailing Clay
2) Cleaner - P21S Cleaner
3) Polish - P21S Multi-surface Restorer
4) Glaze - Klasse All-in-one
5) Wax - S100 Wax

Hummmm...As far as I know she's a 94. The manufacture date is 10/93. And all of the paper work states 94. As a new bimmer owner, I don't know what the difference is...any pics?

Oh nevermind, ALL the 540's and 530's had the wider grill. The 525 didn't have it until '95.

Can all of those cleaning products be purchased at a Autozone/PepBoys/Checker type store? Also, is that the order you use them in?
rwindleyme02
09-04-2003, 10:55 AM
No, you can get them from a number of places:
Autopia.com
Autogeek.net
properautocare.com
Use the products in the order I wrote them in. Autopia has some very good information for detailing newbies.

Bruno needs to change the info on his site then...
Bmw E34 530i, 540i and '95 525i are equipped with a wider grill and a wider hood. I had the opportunity to change the look of my car after my accident.

actually, i stand corrected. you and bruno are right. i always thought only the 540i got the wide grill, but i guess it applied to all v8's.
