So I'm getting a lot of understeer on my car while on the course for autox. My friend has been telling me to get a rear sway bar for awhile because it makes a night and day difference. How would it feel if I just got a rear sway bar for now and left the front stock?
Also to have more oversteer than understerer I need to have a bigger rear sway bar in the back than front. How would this work if all the sway bars for our cars are bigger in the front than back?

You want a bigger bar in the FRONT. A bigger bar in the front will increase the front grip.

what's your suspension setup? are you running stock alignment?

Are you still running staggered wheels? Running the same size wheel/tire at all 4 corners will instantly make a 96-99 M3 much better behaved....

I agree ,i have a 99 M3 and just switched to a square set up and it was like night and day difference.

I currently have the h&r sport springs and bilstein combo. I'm running staggered 225/40/18, 255/40/18 when i need tires next, i will be getting 255 or 245 all around.
So i guess lets base this off non staggered
and I do not have a X-Brace installed yet, but i do plan on it

going to a square set-up will definitely help.
alignment? stock alignment promotes a lot of understeer.

You're running 225's in the front and 255's in the back, of course you're going to understeer! Yikes! Even that up, you'll love it.

Not sure what you're getting at with that... :shifty
