I give him A for effort, B for design.

"Since BMW has started to spend all their time designing automotive oddities like the X6 (http://www.worldcarfans.com/10801142638/bmw-x6-production-version-debuts-at-naias) and 5-Series GT (http://www.worldcarfans.com/109052219515/official-bmw-5-series-gt-in-depth-with-65-photos-video), grad student Iulian Bumbu has decided to give the company a "suggestion" by creating this dynamic looking S.X Concept."

Looks pretty cool, minus the unappealing and probably restrictive vertical exhaust tips.

Looks like the bastard child of an M6 and an Aston Martin... Not that that's a bad thing.

Beautiful design, but if he is at the collge grad level he should not have relied so heavily on other vehicles, not really an original idea z4 rear + m1 concept/fisker front + aston side. I am a little picky due to the excellent photo shops I have seen on this website and others from amatuers that do it for fun. You need alot of original ideas to cut your teeth in the auto design market. It is like if I wrote my graduate thesis on unoriginal ideas, my professors would make me rewrite the entire thing.

It's like a 650 backed into an Aston.

How do you get in? I don't see any door handles.

Slap a V12 twin turbo in it and I would rock it. A-

Looks like every other Sports/GT concept these days, there's only so many ways to design a car, of course when someone actually does come up with something different everyone says its ugly.

Kidney grills and exhaust needs to be long not tall, to start. Otherwise looks pretty good.

A-, it has potential, but it looks like it is robbing too many other designs, BMW is supposed to be original, this looks like an Aston and 6 had a love child

Anyone else think that looks like the r8 front?

I like how it looks.

"M" engine from the M X5 is not an M engine... so that would be blasphemy.

A...A+ if there is no pillar

The general proportions and shape of the car are unrealistic for a production car. Pillars look a bit too thick and the greenhouse is too stout. This means that headroom will be scarce. I do like the rear diffuser and vertical tips, although it would look better with a couple more fins. The shape of the rear and deck is very similar to that of the current 6 series and contemporary Aston-Martins. Rear lights look to take some inspiration from production BMW's, could be integrated into the overall design better. Front end is very Bangle, looks interesting but not in tune with BMW's new, more conservative design language.
The beltline running from the front fenders ends a bit abruptly - it would complement the car better if it ended somewhere around the start of the doors, or was integrated into the design above the rear wheels.
The large indentation following the Hofmeister kink on the C pillar looks ungainly, the car would look cleaner without it.
The lower character line is a bit too pronounced, the flame surfacing on the sides will draw criticism from those who did not appreciate Bangle's work.

As far as grading goes, I'd give the designer a B-. Concept will need go through a hot wash cycle before it is even near production stages, not that the designer has any association with BMW at the moment.
