I plan to purchase a door 94 525i. Does anyone know the approximate weight and the best way to ship it.
I think I read somewhere greyhound was the most cost effective?
Feedback please...

Im trying to figure that out for you man.
I wonder if the dimensions would work with UPS hundred weight?
Where do you need to ship it?
In any case, often if you can find someone who has a commercial account, you'll get some freight or parcel (if UPS hundredweight is an option) at a discount.

I have shipped a door with greyhound before. I shipped it ~250miles. It didn't weigh even close to 100lbs(no door panel but everything else was there). It cost about $35. I believe it weighed about 50-60 pounds. This is with no interior panel but all electronics and glass. Hope this helps.

I am just a due dilligence type cat that uses his resources.

I shipped a Carbon Fiber Hood to e34nication from Boston to Birmingham. Cost 79$ish shipping, and took a full two weeks.

not meaning to spoil the thread, but why would anybody buy/sell a door and ship it when you can get a used door for $100-125 at pretty much any junk yard? www.car-part.com in your area and you'll see.
Unless you can't find a door your color, I wouldn't mess with shipping.
