what is the best hid kit, what kits and color do you all have, and do you have pics.
I just don't want to have a light output that is too blue or too yellow.
I also don't want to have a super increase in output cause i don't want to turn my headlights into lava

I have DDM kits in both my cars and am very happy, the price is great too. I got 6000K the first time because I didn't want them too blue but got 8000K's the second time around and am really happy with those. Some people are going to recommend the 55 watt kits but the 35's are just fine, really bright and won't get you hassled as long as you have projector headlights. This is a crappy pic of my 6000K's, I had them in both the low beams and driving lights but have since gone back to regular bulbs in the lower one's.

DDM is what I used in the first e34 and what I will use in my current cars.

I was throwing up between 6,000K and 8,000K but I went for the latter in the end because it suits the colour of my car (IzaurBlau).

Typically DDM is what guys around here buy. The bottom line is with all the chinese and taiwan kits out there they are cheap enough that really any brand will do. I know DDM offers a lifetime warranty also.
4300k is typically the most OEMish looking hue, 6k is a bit more blue and 3k is a bit yellow. I've heard upgrading to 55watt makes the color temperature a bit more white
In my opinion a not so blue color is best for the E34, makes it look like it could be factory as opposed to a fast and the furious mod

I went for an eBay brand and one ballast died after a day. The company replaced it and both ballasts for my low beams have been working fine ever since.
Since you are in the USA though and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg just to get the stuff to your door. Definatley go DDM for HIDs.

I don't have any pics of my 8000K's right now. I have Silverstar's in my fogs and those with the 8000's it looks dead on most newer cars I pass. I actually parked my car next to a new Bimmer both with the lights on and they looked exactly the same. To be fair I don't have the 8000K DDM bulbs, only the ballasts. I had to get some H1 bulbs quickly so a guy local had HID bulbs so I got his. The color could be a little lighter than some other kits out there.

I have a Kaixen (Ebay purchased) HID kit... It was $130 and it only comes in 6000K and i dont get a "low beam" code on the info center.
It's ok, A little blue for my taste but everyone tells me it looks great as it is (i'm used to 43000K).
