As an owner and enthusiast, I know it's hard trying to find a dealership or repair facility to trust your cars with. Thankfully, I've found myself in a position to help!
I am a Service Advisor at a BMW dealership. I'm proud to say we have a team of very competent, qualified and skilled technicians to make sure your BMW/MINI gets the highest level of service. From our brand new fleet of BMW loaner vehicles, available free of charge with an appointment, to our detail bays and complimentary wash/vac services with each visit, we're here to make it as painless and - dare I say - enjoyable - as possible.
Servicing your vehicle - especially at a dealership - can be frustrating at times. I'm doing my part to take that frustration out. Enthusiast service, quality work, attention to detail, and a level of service you should come to expect from a certified BMW dealership.
Feel free to PM for more info. Many of you with new cars may already be visiting here - I hope to see many more of you soon!
Thank you!

Scott,
Thanks for taking the time to bring this to our attention. However, if you want to continue to advertise for your dealership, you are going to need to have someone there sign up with our advertising team.

I'm sure you're aware of the fact that there is only one BMW dealership in Boston. You're original post is still nothing more than a thinly veiled advertisement for that one specific location, rather than a general recommendation for the service department at all authorized BMW dealerships.
Please adhere to published forum rules and guidelines.

Listen, I can understand why the rules are in place - and I'm in no way trying to bend or break them. I'm not some higher-up in the marketing department or management department trying to drum up sales numbers - I'm merely offering enthusiasts a friend in the business that they can come to instead of some guy working the job for a paycheck. I really don't see this as an advertising scheme, but if you guys think so, I'll let this lie as it remains. I can't follow the advertising route for the board because I don't represent the dealership nor can I use it as an endorsement - all I'm saying is, if you need service, I'd love to help.

Cut him a break, times are tough. Im an advisor at a Ford/Toyota/Scion dealership and you wouldnt believe the avenues the industry as a whole are taking to increase traffic. Good luck man.

You may not be trying to break them, but you're certainly bending them by advertising yourself as a S.A. who is also an enthusiast in an attempt to draw customers to your dealership. So while you may not be advertising all aspects of your dealership (sales, financing, parts, etc) you are indeed advertising for the service department and calling out to potential clients to specifically request you for your special skills (i.e. every other service advisor is just working the job for a paycheck and therefore provides sub-standard quality, but you're the die hard who always advocates for the client).
I know what you're trying to do - and I think it's a good thing - but I you're just not going about it the right way. Whatever the case may be, I just hope you've learned a few things since your days over on r3v...

I know they're tough, but the advertising regulations on here are meant to level the playing field for everyone in the automotive sales and service industry, and give everyone equal opportunity. I have no issues with trying to drive traffic towards one dealership or another...but you've got to play by the rules - if you want the privilege of advertising your business you've got to pay the ante.
In your post you've done things the proper way...stated that you work for a Ford/Toyota/Scion dealership, but have given no details regarding the name or location. If someone here wanted to employ your services they could go through the effort of PM'ing you in order to find out more. If you wanted to save them the effort you could pay a fee and advertise to your hearts content, thereby driving more business to you then the guy next door who isn't willing to pay that cost.

No harm no foul ref. It does make sense after all.
In closing, Enthusiasts who work at off brand dealerships make the most money!!:)
kidding.. I am curious however how service advisors at BMW are paid based on the $0 Maint/50k prepaid deals and repairs being Warrantyable for so long

Damn. You should go to Autozone and get it scanned! With any luck it'll have fewer fault codes than tsylatac's car.

Will you be using your new position to refund the copious number of BMW enthusiasts you "sold" parts to, and never delivered?

Right, however, you might want to re-read the entire thread to understand the larger points that were made...points that serve to keep things as fair as possible for guys in your position.
