Alright, so I have been reading up on attack eagles thread and the linked threads...Im only concerned with allowing the car to start. I believe I need to connect pins within the plug that leads to that transmission cmputer to trick the trans computer into thinking it is in neutral or park, however Im not for sure if this is the correct way.

I plan on reversing the brake switch eventually from closed, to open for cruise control on the clutch, but right now I just want to be sure I know what to do to allow the car to start. Attack eagles car was earlier than 94 (92?) and i am aware that my car lacks the relay to create the jumper.

If anyone could shed some light on this for me thatd be great. car should be driving by tomorrow. will take pics.

My '95 had the relay. It's behind the kick panel on the driver's side. I just pulled the relay and made a jumper. It's a "long" relay. Sort of an olive green color.

Mine didn't have a starter relay when I went through my 5spd swap..
so I followed instructions from shrike071 in this thread.

it's the bold text in the quote in post 1

All auto cars have some form of starter relay, EWSII cars integrate it a bit more. I would check the ETM for your specific model year, look at the "start" section and determine the differences between auto and manual cars, then fix the appropriate wiring... The EGS versions used in E34s are simplistic enough that they really have nothing to do with whether the engine will start, just whether an error message will appear. Shift gate position, which controls the starter relay, does affect whether the car will start. You really want to work around the relay when possible, easier to get functional cruise and reverse lights when not messing with the remnants of the position switch harness...

Ill look. when I make the jumper is it the same pins? 2 to...6 ?

That sounds right. I'd have to go back and check my notes.

Alright so I looked at the car...And looked at the wiring diagrams...And with little to no experience with these diagrams (im seventeen) Didnt exactly work out.

Cant I connect or ground two pins in the connecter that plugs into the gear shift assembly (smaller one) tricking the computer into thinking its in N or P?

Not worried about the error...Ill fix it another time.. But this is my only transportation come tomorrow evening. Pictures would also be helpful.

OH. And the cable that connects to the key cylinder in the steering column has disconnected...from me figeting with it when I was removing that irremovable bolt...anyone know where the hell the damn thing hooks onto? it is a thick black cable that has a eyelet on the end...

Ah...not going to lie, I Am lost as far as EGS and ETM goes.. But the shift gate position is something i looked at..I figured if I found out what the position does as far as connections go when in N or P I could figure out how to mimic that?
