Hello, I'm just wondering if anyone has a old IR remote kicking around or know where to get one? It's for the M5. I just need it for parts because mine still works with the car. I asked how much a new one was at the dealer and they want almost 400 bucks. I don't need one that badly.

What happened was I was locking the car with the key hole on the trunk but the screw that attachs the key to the remote backed out a touch and got jammed in the key hole. I tired to wiggle it out but I ended up snapping the part that part between the key and the remote in half. The key and all the broken bits ended up in the key hole so I had to find some small tools to pick everything out.

After this I figured out how to connect the car with the remote locks now so I don't have to use the key anymore.

Here are some pics of the remote...

If Erich can't hook you up, I have a near new one that we ordered for a euro M5, guy hated the range and we ended up installing the factory alpine RF alarm kit. The remote's been sitting around for ~4 years, but I saw it today and the battery's still good. PM me if you want to discuss...

Thanks for the responses. If I can't get the "cover" from the dealer I will get a hold of one of you two forsure. Then again it might be nice to have a second remote too.

Still have 3 blank keys for the IR remote # 51211950394 plusg the small screws for that. But shipping to USA will probably the same as the cost when you buy them for example from ECS, they have stock
