hit a puddle and started spinning at 60 mph on the highway. hit a curb at around 55 and my driver side rear suspension is gone.

now if that was the only problem I would fix my car for sure and keep driving it. but the impact was so hard that it pulled my whole frame of .

what do you guys think I should do now?

is it worth fixing,(pulling the frame)

or just put it up for auction(how much am i looking at getting)

Damn man...

By your post it sounds like you don't have insurance. If I were you, I'd take it down to Haurys (have it AAA towed) and tell them you don't have insurance, and ask what it would cost to have it fixed as best they can. If you can get them to fix/straighten the frame and realign the panels, you can replace the actual broken parts (suspension etc) yourself.

I can just about guarantee you snapped something on the rear subframe with that kind of impact.

Just curious, was your DSC on or off?

ASC was on. yeah, I didnt have throttle when I was spinning.

I do have insurance, but it is only liability.

I do plan on doing the suspension work myself, if I decide to keep the car

If the frame got bent, the car will never drive the same, regardless of how much money you dump into it. I say to sell the car and pick up another e39.

i'd chalk it up as a loss if i were you. looks pretty bad. plus, m5's are selling cheap nowadays.

Wow. What a drag.
Buy another E39 and keep the old one as a parts car.

Word. Way too much damage and it would probably cost more than an M5 to get it to drive close to what it was like before. The structural rigidity of your car is compromised, theres a reason insurance companies consider frame damage to be a total loss in almost all scenarios.

thank God for curb being that tall, you could've end up in the guard rail or go off the bridge worst case scenario

Amen brother. I have seen crazy prices for used engines and transmissions. If that is the only thing wrong, by the time you sell the good body parts and interior parts (seats and such) you will be able to recoup a lot of cash.

If you have the means and now how, part it out.

That really sucks. It brings tears to my eyes.

took out my rear seats today, and that metal piece thats between the seats and trunk is all bent up.

And there is a big crease in the metal piece thats in between the gas tank and bottom part of rear seat.

Damn, Parting out will take to long,

I will probably put the car up for copart on monday

I understand, time is money too. I have resorted to going back and driving my truck while fixing my car. I can't get everything done in one weekend even with all the tools and resources.
