2002 forester with 80k miles went thru the action today and brought $1000 less than a 2002 e39 with 90k miles. Crazy to think considering the original list of each car.

Subarus have FANTASTIC resale value, residual value and INCREDIBLE brand loyalty, I am not at all surprised at this at all. Especially in this economy, small efficient cars are what is selling also the dealers are going to start stocking up on winter cars this time of year as all the summer impulse buys are pretty much finished.

I love subarus although I hate the sound of their engines. My dad lives in western massachusetts and has had one subaru or another for the last 17 years or so. Particularly in the winter, it's almost like you get looked at funny when you're not driving a subaru out in the berkshires.

I bought a 93 subie legacy with 80K on it 5 years ago for $3,000 for my kids, went though one son (he now has a 98 328 with 130K) and the second son has had it for 2 years now, not one single problem. Best 3grand I ever spent.....and the current legacy with the manual trans is the only other non BMW I would ever consider owning......

apples to oranges. BMW's plummet because they are expensive to own. Subaru's don't plummet because they aren't expensive to own. Does that make them even remotely comparable? Nope.

Drive a Subaru for a couple of days. Than drive your E-39 afterwards. Enough said.

BMWs in general a somewhat impractical as well. but they make awesome dd or occassional driving!

Lesbians in Ann Arbor love em too.

I'm a lesbian trapped in a man's body.

I prefer my truck and E39.
