thats right, when driving along the temp guage will drop as low as the first white line...

i would imagine this is due to a stuck thermostat? either that or a water pump?

anyone else experianced this on their 528?

i do have a pin hole in my radiator, i keep topping it off and bleeding it every few days. im saving $$$ for parts to overhaul the whole cooling sys...

should i stop driving it? or is it running cool not that big of a deal for another month or two?

i only drive it about 15 miles to work and 15 miles back mon-fri...

thanks for the input!

It could be a bad temp sensor. A stuck thermostat would still bring up the temp close to optimum temp. A bad water pump woul definitely make it a hot engine as the coolant/water is not circulating properly.

I'd start with a new radiator to eliminate the pinhole leak. The, go from there...

I think the thermostats are designed to fail in the open position which could result in your symptoms. Agreed that the coolant temp. sensor could be malfunctioning as well, but I think it is the former.
Will you be doing the work yourself or are you planning on taking it to an Indy or Dealership for service?
