Any special way to go about doing it? I've heard that some k1s have gotten fractures or cracks after being powder coated due to the heat in the ovens because they are all aluminum.

I was thinking, maybe less heat for a longer period of time?

Someone please chime in :)

We do aluminum wheels all the time with no issues. In fact to get a nice finish you would need to out gas them first and that involves taking them to a higher temperature (450-500 degrees). I'm almost positive hey came powder coated factory meaning they would be weak out of the gate and this is not the case. If you wanted to be on the safe side you can always scotch bright the wheels to make them a lil smoother and re powder over the existing finish, the powder will flow out at approx 375 degrees and you can skip the out gas step. The final finish might now be as good as it could be, but it might be worth your piece of mind. I would just say go for it and have them done by a reputable company.

You do need to be careful with the heat. The heat can soften the aluminum.
