I was waiting in line at the drive through and for some reason, I looked up. Ive got a spot about the size of a grapefruit in the headliner right above my head that the glue has given up :mad Only a matter of time before it grows. Any quick fixes?

Is it just the one panel that needs work. Auto stores sell plastic pieces about the size of a quarter that have a little pig tail screw on them. Screw into the headliner and hold the fabric up. Don't know if thats a super ghetto American thing.

Uh, your headliner falling down is not cancer. Rust is cancer, you have a hangnail. For $45 in material and glue and a long afternoon of work, you can have a brand-new headliner. Please don't put screws or staples into it.

The only downside is that I've never been able to find the super-thin (4mm?) foam-backed material that the germans use on the sunroof panels. So far I've always been ok using the 8mm stuff, it just makes the fit a bit tighter, but I never tried it on the huge Touring panels.

3/16 foam backed works fine..whatever that equates to in Millimeters..
It's not a hard job and there are writeups on doing it to a Touring..

Well,at this point, for me, its not worth the time and effort yet to pull the entire headliner. Good to know its not hard though.

Mine too. Thing waves at me in the rearview mirror when I have the windows open. Really annoying, especially when I keeping waving back out of reflex...
