wasn't sure what to search for....and the one thing that pops into mind for me is "intake manifold casting" so i figure that'll help future searchers find this thread.

why are some m30's cast with "3.4L" on the intake manifold, and some with "3.5L" on the intake manifold. i thought all m30 powered e34s were m30b35 powred. is that false?

I've never seen 3.4 cast on the side. Find a pic?

Also, the M30B34 (which was 3.4 liters) was in the E23, E28, and E24 cars. The B35 (also 3.4 liters) was in the E34, E32, and possibly some late E24s.

I would be surprised to see a m30b35 with "3.4" on the side...Are you sure it said "3.4"?

well shit. i can't get a picture now. guess this thread'll be on hold til the after the 28th when i pick the car up.

i'm almost 95% sure it said 3.4

also, ^^^^ that picture came off an 88 735i? i had a 1988 735i for my first car and i'm 100% sure it said 3.4 on it.

The M30B34 came in the E28.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_M30

It also came in a 3.2 liter version as well on the E24 six's.

Anyways like I said I have more pics that I didn't send to you (I thought they were redundant) at home I think of the car when I checked it out let me see when I get home and I'll forward what I find to you and help with your issues of sanity.
