I hear a lot of people say bmw's are not made for drag racing. What determines that a car is made for drag racing? Because i'm lost since a lot of bmw's come faster then most true sport cars such as vetts, chevey's, and dodge's how can one say tha it's not made for drag racing? To me it seems to be a turn key all performance machine straight from the dealer

You must be new to both BMWs and drag racing. Our cars are made to handle well in addition to being fun to drive. They really aren't set up to hook on a launch. Nothing's impossible, but we're speaking in generalizations here. It's also fairly costly to build a bmw drag car, where domestics are fairly cheap.

bmws are made for real racing, on corners (both left and right) where it takes some skill to do, where as drag racing, sorry not really trying to offend, is a bit easier, kinda point and click and hope you get your shifts right, not quite as fun as going around a 3rd gear corner with the tail out a bit which is the reason i bought a bmw, and probably the comon concensus for most bimmerheads

A bmw is a drag car to me,, i can go to the track in an m6 run mid 12 stock and touch nothing under the hood ,but if i wasnt to go scca or whatever i have to change brakes,shocks,springs,sway-bars,on any bmwto really compete,so i drag mine cause a new rear end is almost as much as coil-overs lol
