After which seems like years of waiting, wanting and researching. I think I found a 3 series I may call my own. My wife now agrees so my search was on. I have narrowed it down to this one and am going to drive it tomorrow. Couple hours away at BMW dealership, but worth it. Can't wait!!

Here are the specs.

06' 330i Alpine White w/ Terracotta and Al Trim
Manual
Sport Pkg
Prem Pkg
Cold Weather Pkg
55k Miles
100k Warranty from previous owner CPO.

Anything I should look for specific? They also offered the maintenance warranty to 100k for an additional $1400. They say at their cost. Is it worth it or not?? With Inspection II just around the corner I think it may be a good idea.

Thanks!!

I would get the additional maintenance. Welcome to the board! I have a 2007 330Xi Manual, all options except nav with the same interior color. I think you'll like it, I love mine.

Careful with the aluminum trim, they get dinged easily.

The maintenance warranty is pretty much profit for the dealer on non-maintenance-intensive BMWs (non-N54, S54, S62, S65, S85, and other non-M or V8 motors). You may also consider putting that $1400 in a "high"-yield (it's not high, but it's better than nothing) savings account and using it when you need it. The only maintenance you'll really need that the warranty will cover is oil changes, spark plugs, filters, and other very basic tune-up items, which you can DIY for a few hundred bucks over those few years.

2007 330Xi does not exist.

Sounds nice.
I'd skip the maintenance.

If you can swing that $1400, do it. It doesn't take too may oil changes and "non-warranty" services to add up to $1400. Figure it's going to need brakes before 100,000 are up, right there you have your money back.

CPO covers enough, I wouldn't get the other warranty unless it paid for everything

How much is the car?

Coming from someone who has never had a car with a warranty, buy maintenance. 45k miles is a long way to go and chances are that you'll end up spending more than $1400 on maintenance.

In 45k you'll need like 4 oil changes (100 each at a dealer),
spark plugs changed - $100 probably
wiper blade inserts every year - 10 per blade x 2 x 4yrs = 80
brake pads once - $200
rotors probably - $200-300
coolant flush twice - 20 for coolant, 60 for labor x 2 services = $160
cabin filter = $40 x 2 = $80
air filter = $30x4? = $120

thats about $1340 ...and thats with dealer prices for labor and parts
so its up to you..you could probably cut 3-4 hundred out easily by going privately.

see here's the trick

BMW has compiled data pertaining to the average cost* of maintaining other vehicles during the first four years of ownership. See how BMW's no-cost Ultimate Service plan compares:

Brand/
Maintenance Costs

Acura
$970.75

Audi
$967.17

BMW
$0

Cadillac
$744.26

Infiniti
$649.40

Jaguar
$1112.53

Land Rover
$233.52

Lexus
$974.22

Lincoln
$922.14

Mercedes-Benz
$1086.60

Porsche
$1032.14

Saab
$385.29

Volvo
$918.93

BMW writes 0, which it is 0 for the first 4 years, standard maintenance applies thereafter for all cars. They want to charge you $1400 for extended maintenance when they just showed all their competitors cost about 1k for 4 years to maintain. Should cost the BMW about the same too. So they will come up about $400 if you buy their program.

BTW isnt the extra maintenance 2 yrs/ up to 100k?

For even greater protection, we offer the optional BMW Maintenance Program Upgrade.**
If your vehicle is eligible, you may be able to purchase an upgrade, which provides your vehicle with 2 years/50,000 miles additional maintenance coverage. When purchased, this upgrade extends your total maintenance coverage period up to 6 years/100,000 miles.

+1

most extra warranty programs won't offer zero cost servicing like the BMW plan. If the car is CPO to 100k miles I'd leave it at that and save the 1400. Does the car have navigation? Good luck

Wow thanks for all the replies!

However I think the 330i is out. I came across this 328i coupe. After some negotiation for $2k more than they were willing to sell the 330i for. Little further drive at a BMW dealership. Aparently...one owner that traded it in at the first oil change b/c his wife couldn't deal with the manual trans. Glad my wife knows how to handle a stick!!

07' 328i Coupe!!!
Crimson Red w/ Cream Beige
11k miles
Manual
Sport Pkg
Cold Weather Pkg

I have a deposit on it and we are making a road trip on Friday to check it out!!!

If I go with it the Accord will have to hang around for the winter commutes.

Thanks.

I know it's very market dependent, but some dealerships are hurting. Just to help you out for comparison purposes:
I bought an 07 328i Black on Black with wood
Sport Package
Premium Package
Xenon Lights
ipod adapter
18k miles
prestine interior and only minor rock chips on the hood (which dealer fixed)
for 24350. This is much below what kbb had as retail value (below what trade in even was). Make sure to negoiate a good deal.

That's a good deal. On my over the phone negotiation has it at 25.5k. Maybe I can push them a little lower when I get there.

Thanks
