I just thought the cooper people would like to see the love I share with my new sig.

I want one so badly that I can almost taste it. Please, someone, anyone, buy my car so I can get my own Cooper S. And no, I'm not about to trade her in, I'll have to get pretty desperate to do that, the stealer will only take about 9K for a car worth 14-15k.

Oh well, waiting gives me more time to save up for mods and or payments.

hehe, you will love the car... my car... :D

Good luck selling the 740, my husband loves them, but...I am a small car person..his 540 is too big for me!

That will be quite a change for you, won't it? From a 740 to a MINI?

Oh it will be a huge change, but in more good ways than bad. I can park the car easier, weave through traffic better, fill up the tank for under 30 dollars (apposed to recent 54 dollar fill up on the E38). I will miss the roomy back seat and the plush leather, and the sound of the engine when the torque kicks in, but I won't miss the gas and repair bills, that’s for sure. I still love big cars, but I’m a sucker for a hatch back.

I just wish my sig host wasn’t so retarded :(

Deb, what does your Cooper look like? Is it indi metalic, or electric like the picture (seached long and hard for a picture of indi with no luck)

It is Indi Blue, with white stripes and top, sun roof, all performance options I could get. Here is a picture I found..

That one is very cute.

I'm getting so close to getting it, it’s not even funny, its so excited. My mom decided that trading in the 7 may be the best decision due to the lack of interest in her. I'm turning in applications today for a second job, once I secure that I can afford payments meaning I can hand over the 7 meaning I can drive off the lot with a MCS.

Where have you tried selling the 7? Congrats on the new Cooper, when it arrives.

A couple things you will miss when you get your MCS is the smooth ride and the sound deadening of your 7. The MCS can be pretty brutal with a choppy ride and road noise.

I personally like a harsh ride. My husband has a 540i (6 speed, of course) and I don't really pay attention to any sound differences. Actally, one of the first things HE said was how quiet the MCS was.

Go figure! I have only ridden in a 7 series once, though.

I really don’t think the ride difference will bug me. I get pissed off at the 7 for the floatiness of the ride. I've ridden in a Cooper with the sport suspension and my mom's 911 with no complains of the ride. As for road noise, I’ll get used to it.

I tried selling the car on: autotrader, dtm, roadfly, here, via sign in window... no luck at any.

Well, they do have better roads and freeways in Ca. I like the way my 750il drives with the Bilsteins and the 540ia drives nice and smooth but the steering isn't as responsive as the 750il.

Maybe it was those rubber bands I had for tires that made the ride really bumpy. Going back and forth between the MCS and the 750il made me see the BIG differences in sound levels and ride quality. Of course, the 7er does weigh 2000 lbs MORE than the MCS and that alone will make a big difference towards ride quality.

As for the sound level, I do get a lot of phone calls while I'm on the road and also have people with me discussing business matters. That's when I noticed the big difference in noise level, particularly road noise. Of course we have Mdeb and thrlls who drive M Roadsters and are used to the noise. I had a Mercedes SL and had fun driving it around with the top down, but when you have the top up and it's still noisy it drives me batty. I gave the car to my sister who doesn't drive it anymore either.

hey 740girl, dont worry you will get it soon enough! and yes DO NOT TRADE YOUR CAR IN! the 525i that we traded for our mini is worth around 10k and they only gave us 2500 for it!!?!!!!! and then the beat up, old, 84 318i with no paint, lots of body damage, and with like 350k miles on it... they gave us 500 for that thing! which is way too much but o well. they ripped us off BAD. wasnt my decision to trade though :(

GOOD LUCK!

yes, I know, trading the car in will mean a major lose in money, but at the same time, the longer we keep the car, the more that gap shrinks. No one is looking at the car, which I can get about 14,000 for at the moment. Subtract the 1,500 that the car needs, that's 12,500. Then, lets say we don’t sell the car for another three months, that's three months of gas or: 1,200 (no joke, gas for the 7 is more than a monthly payment on a Cooper when gas is going for $2.30 like it has been for the past month) now we have the car down to 11,300, and that's if nothing else brakes. If we play the dealer right, we can get 9 or 10 now and not have to deal with getting some stuff repaired, or with the buying coming back a month from now complaining about how the power steering went. Now, which is the smarter decision?

I may have to hold off on the cooper for a little longer. I put my two weeks notice in today, I want to get another job established before I go and buy a car.
