TRANS PROGRAM problem, please help??

Hi there,

I have a 1991 525i bmw. The Trans Program indicator is showing on the computer dashboard. Now, ive asked many chat rooms and the same replies have been around. Basically check this and that and so forth. Can anyone tell me step by step process of what to check for. for example, remove the battery first..then check if that fixed it. Check electrical plugs..and so forth. Please, can someone give me directions of each and everything that should be done. Perhaps give me a website that can help me. Because i dont really know how to do those things, so if anyone can direct me, that would be really really great. Thanks

It could be a bunch of things.
Sounds like you have rhe answers now you have to do the various things you have read.

You've got two threads going on now for the same issue. A search will tell you that you have an electrical problem with your transmission, probably a bad solenoid. Trans Program comes up when there's an electrical fault, and it locks the tranny in third gear.

Stop making new threads for a well covered issue that a simple search will help you with. It's saturday, if people don't get back to you right away be patient. It's summertime and it's nice out.
