Hello,
I just joined this forum in hopes of getting to know how to take care of my new vehicle. I just traded in my 12 year old 97' Lexus ES300 last month to buy a right-off-lease CPO 2006 325i from a dealer for ~$23,000. I'm having a little bit of reservation about the price after the purchase, although I love my new bimmer so no complaints in that.
It's a jet black 325i with 43k miles on it, premium package, heated seats, other basics for $20500 after the trade-in. Considering that my Lexus had 1 accident record, and couple major exterior mishaps, I think the trade-in value was decent, but not so sure about the entire purchase.
I already put almost 2500 miles on it though, since I made more than a few long-distance commutes, so I'm considering getting the extended warranty for $1600 soon before it hits that 50k mileage mark.

Why worry about your deal now. Enjoy it and move on.

I understand that, I was just curious since it's my first car purchase and as a recent college grad, I forked a good chunk of my budget in order to afford it. Unfortunately, I'm still quite naive about car purchases, and frankly thought that I might have overpaid especially in today's buyer's market.

If someone tells you it was a bad deal, it will put a sour taste in your mouth and you will not be enjoying your car as much. Best to just forget it for now and enjoy the new car experience. Next time you buy, do the research and ask the questions beforehand, now it is too late to do anything about it and the answers will do you no good. We are just all being honest here and not trying to be jerks. Congrats and enjoy.

Enjoy the new car in forget about it. The only thing you might of done is sell your trade in outright. However most people don't want to take the time to do all that.

You got a pretty good deal. When I was looking to buy, I wanted a CPO 2006 325i based on my budget and the specials they were running on interest rates (0.9%, 48 months). The dealerships around Minneapolis didn't have exactly what I was looking for (black on black), so I worked with a dealer to see if he could find something through auction, etc. He was estimating to bring in a 2006 with the options I wanted and certify it would come to about $23K.
The dealership had almost exactly what I was looking for in terms of options, color; but it was a 2007 and out of my price range. After a week or two of trying to get a 2006, the dealership said they would drop the price of the 07 and split the difference compared to an 06. The 07 was priced at $26K, so they dropped it to $24.8K, which was under my budget of $25K, so I pulled the trigger. The car had 29K miles at the time.
Overall, I think you can rest easy getting a great car at a reasonable price. As time passes, you'll probably see the same car selling for a few thousand less, but that's how it goes. It's the same story with TVs, computers, etc.
Congrats on your purchase!

Agreed to all above. I think it's natural to second guess your purchase so I cant fault you, but you purchased one heck of a good car for your first bimmer so enjoy it and dont fret "the deal". 23k is about what you would pay here for an 06 325i, maybe with fewer miles, but I live in Hawaii and 10k per year is standard out here. Enjoy the car and put some pics on.
