What is the difference? I've been searching for a little bit and can't find anything really definitive.

The Js are forged.

sizes are also different.

RCJ are 18x8 and 18x9 only

RC are 18x8.5 +38
18x10 +25
18x8.5 +13
17x8
17x9 +32
etc

Does forging make them lighter/stronger than the standard RC's?

not sure about the weight, but forging makes them stronger

Maybe slightly, not really enough to notice. The regular RCs are spun-rim (what Formula 1 cars have) not cast, so they are still strong and durable. They weigh about the same, ~17-18 lbs. each.
