I've been doing a TON of research since i've acquired this car, anywhere from HID low beam, euro parts and trim, to performance and suspension. to start out the car needed a tranny to begin with and otherwise is VERY clean just basic scratches and stuff (after the tranny swap this weekend it will be claybard, buffed and waxed) butt does have other little problems that you guys can help me with because i want this to be in pristine condition, just like every e34 should be :D

first off i might just go to bavauto for this, need a gas hinge

interested in the lights! i'll let you know about those soon, if i sell the 240 consider them gone but for now just looking for a replacement, but i do like those smiley's :)

the 240sx is an SE model and for the forum ill look around 2300, its on craigslist for 2500. i can send better pics and info to whomever is interested

I've got a BMW filler plate and clear corners in Va. Not sure on the plate's condition. And how much were you thinking for the clears? To be honest pelicanparts.com sells them new somewhat cheap and if its not worth it to me to sell them I'm going to try smoking my corners.

And I've never seen a shovel used as a tripod :stickoutt

Wiper arm rubbing is because of a worn out wiper arm assembly washer. Search for it, there's threads.

that nad the hoods eventually de-crown themselves sincethy have no support and constant aero pressure.

Roll with it. It ain;t gonna hurt nothing, and it is just part of the character of the Ethirtyfour.

ahh i guess but i'll shoot some more pics and put them up in detail, it bugs the hell out of me because it looks bad and im kind of a perfectionist whether i look like it or not. this eventually will be my car i take to interviews when i graduate college (MET) and employers DO look at your car and interior to see what kind of person you are. NO joke my boss/senior advisor @ fedex freight where i work now (when there is work) did that, and luckily there was a carshow that weekend so the 240sx was clean :stickoutt

well i went out to take pics of the windshield wiper and decided to fire the car up, havent really had time to mess with it since i bought it (from a friend, said everything was sound so i had it shipped up here) and when i did there is a loud knocking noise, now im not sure if its a lifter or what but i went to the exhaust and it looks like its burning oil, i hope i dont need a new head... :mad

go to the dealer for the gas door hinge. It's cheap @ $15 anyway

Wiper issue is a PIA to fix. You can do a quick mod by taking the arm off the spline and reorienting it slightly higher. It won't completely solve the problem but will help save your hood. You can also adjust the hood brackets by the firewall to raise you hood up slightly.

If you really want to know how to fix it go here and look for Maintenance / E34 Electrical / wiper console change.

thanks man i was already there and have discussed it over pm's with BinJammin and i was like wtf to the THREE parts. i think i might just fabricate a whole new wiper arm, like grind it down and then place metal over top so it doesnt look like complete ass. besides the dumass who had the car last has the wiper wayyy too long where it doesnt hit the glass on the end and hits the hood. looks like the last person that got it either got lazy or didnt give a crap. blows

might jack up the hood alot, make it look turbo styllzz yo. haha

btw, what wheels are you running in your sig? i like em alot :buttrock

glad you got it alright. ya the keycards was a random idea since i packed that at the post office (hence the envelopes as filler in the box) and the cards were sitting on top of the machine, couldnt think of a better way to protect it haha. anything else you need let me know and next time im at a yard i'll check for ya. no man i'm deciding to keep it there is too much car here for 2 grand so i am going to rough out the expenses. i will still need the pass grill and all the side trim though, the bumper will have to wait till i get a job. sorry man but the 240 is going to be my project car over the next 4 years, body work, paint, and a s/c Lsx

no sadly, i dont have too much money since i decided to keep my s14 and do what i always wanted to do to it, turn it into my street/track car. i'll have to mess with smileys some other day and not having a job right now is killin me too. nother deal now i kept forgetting to ask, does anyone have a problem with both rear trims that line the inside of the door shrinking?? it acts as if it's shrank when you push it down its not long enough so it starts to pull off somewhere else...

It's an e34 thing for door seals to shrink. Best thing to do is cut the seal where it would lay under the door sill, lay the seal flat so the open spot is under the sill, and get an extra seal from the junkyard that you can cut a section from to fill the now opened gap under the sill.

that blows... i might just leave the gap open under the door sill or put something under it so it doesnt collapse. reason being is there are NO e34's even close in any junk yards... it blows

It looks like there is some good stuff on the car but here is my experience with them:

I wanted the gearshift knob, some wood trim, and the trunk roundel but the guys made me wait 45 min before he would go out and pull the stuff off the car for me (I was tired of waiting, so I rolled out). Also, he wouldn't sell the badge, he wanted me to buy the whole trunk and he gave me grief about the wood trim saying that he wanted me to buy the door. So its there, but the employees are asshats. I especially love how the employees pee out in the parking lot, that's just lovely.

**UPDATE**

interior is finished after hours and hours of detailing and cleaning, besides putting an emblem on the steering wheel and some glue needed in a few places. oh and the front is on too just need some bulbs n lights and get it inspected... still needs washed, having a guy come today to remove all the little dents and dings etc. then monday having it buffed and touched up so all the scratches are removed, car will look dam near brand new. replace the head and remove the ticking (maybe a lifter tick) and it'll sound new too!

I think I have a set of center caps in pretty good condition. I will get a picture up for you later.

Here is what I have fro center caps. One in really good condition (on the right)
The other two are faded and some of the silver color is coming off.

ok ontop of the plastic cover i just ordered a reverse light switch since mine is apparently crap, but i was on the highway today and my cruise control didnt work, anyone have any ideas as to where i should start? like where the fuses are at or so on?

bumpin cause have some other little issues...

first off is i got the gas door hinge from pelican parts but it came with no spring or doesnt lock and not sure whats supposed to go where so im using an old carb. spring for now ( i got the car with the thing broken so i need to find an original spring...

and also i have a really low idle, around 550 and i'd like to bump it up 200 to 750 and im not sure how to do it, i messed with the throttle adjuster but im used to alot of cars just having the screw on the throttle body where you can adjust it...
