Hi,
I am looking for a used windshield for an e36 coupe in good condition with no chips/cracks in the chicagoland area. Looking for one that is already pulled, I do not want to pull it.
My email is mjkriti@Ilstu.edu
Thanks
Mike

I just had a glass guy come out and remove both the front and rear windows.
As expected the front cracked but the rear came out great. In fact, if the rear broke it would shatter into little pieces because it's safety glass.
So goodluck finding a used front windshield because 90% of the time they will break when removed.

totally right omg the front is almost impossible to remove, I tried it myself on my first parts car with no luck and then had a professional try to do it on my second parts car with no luck at all, but good luck finding one

haha, yea I know it is almost impossible but, I figured I would try before I just go with lexan.
I cracked a brand new windshield 5 minutes after the glass guy came and put it in once...now that was a heartbreak and a half!

^Any chance it wasn't installed correctly causing it to break?

union auto glass does a lifetime warranty, I used them and it was under 200 for it installed.
google 'em.

No, I was putting in the plastic piece that goes around the bottom of the windshield and accidentally pinched the edge of the glass just right in the corner, my fault.
I don't remember who I used, it has been a few years since I replaced a windshield last. I'll see if I can figure it out. I believe it was about $80 to install and $325+ for the glass from the dealer.

If you can find out who installed the glass I would really appreciate it. I can get an OEM glass for $170

HI,
Sorry I can not find a receipt for who I used and I looked all over. I live up by the WI border so it might be worth it to find someone closer anyway since you live south of me.
