I purchased the car last year from one of my friends. He bought it from his aunt and uncle down in Florida, I believe they were the original owners. He lost all the records from when they had it, but he told me the major things that were done.
They (aunt/uncle) had the car until 160k I believe.
At 130k they had the timing chain replaced along with the heads. about that same time they upgraded the exhaust to an AA Gen II catback, and spiced it up some more with some 18" staggered Hamann Motorsport PG1 rims (UBER RARE!)
then, roughly 4 years ago my friend bought the car, took very good care of it for 3 years, then the last year it sat... and then I bought it. When I bought it the sunroof drain on the passenger side wasn't connected, so water collected in the passenger side... at the time I was new to BMW so I ended up cutting the carpet to get the water out, I cleaned it out, let it dry for a week, then put everything back in.... no rusting occurred... surprisingly... it was quite amazing. So the carpet needs to be replaced, which I will be doing sometime while I try and sell the car.

Things I have replaced in the last year:

-Thermostat+housing (aluminum one)
-Waterpump (metal fins)
-Radiator (replaced with stock)
-Aux fan (used but looks new)
-Springs (H&R Sports)
-Heatercore
-AC unit (small radiator part that's in with the heatercore)
-Radio (oem, have original as well)
-2 front tires (on the Hamanns)
-4 Contour Reps (have a 5th one with no tire as a spare... it was cracked but had it repaired)
-4 brand new tires to go with the Contours
-Slotted/X-drills rotors with ceramic brakes up front, oem's in the rear
-glovebox (old one had mice remenents on it and I didn't want the smell... I have the original if you want it)
-Center vent
-Sunroof assembly (rebuilt it, needs some tweaking... Have spare pieces from the old one)
-Sunroof Seal ($50 for a stupid piece of rubber!)
-Will be buying new fog lights and possibly new headlights in the near future.

There are some other issues with it currently, but I will fix those before I sell the car (abs light is on and airbag light is on)
I stripped the entire interior aside from the door panels, hand cleaned EVERYTHING because mice had gotten into the car when it sat. So I hand cleaned everything and put most of it back together. I need to buy new side panel pieces (they hide the carpet edges) as I ended up breaking those trying to get them off the car (those are $14 ea, not a big deal).

The car currently has 185k.
I'm asking $11k for the car. this might be priced High, but I spent a great deal of time and money repairing it to this point. and I'll continue to repair stuff as time goes on. and you are getting everything I have that is M3 related, all the spare parts I have, the Hamann Rims (SUPER RARE and worth roughly $2k... they need work but they hold their value)

The reason i'm selling is because I want to upgrade to an E46 M3

I'll post pictures later when I get home from work.

Thanks for posting 3x...

I doubt anyone on here is interested because of the price, but I figure I'd post it anyways.

There are a couple dents, the most noticeable is on the rear driverside wheel arch, and rear quarter panel ... both are easy to have repaired, probably with no damage to paint.
If you want any specific pictures let me know.
If you wanna gab about how high my price is and I suck, etc etc, feel free to post... I don't care.

GLWS! It would be awesome for all E36 owners if you got close your asking price!

At 1/3 less, you might get some interest, but even that might be high.

Are you interested in selling the PG1s separate?

:lol LOL thanks!

I would sell the PG1's separate, $2k for them... as is... not messing around with pulling tires off and such... you get brand new front tires with them... the rears are shot.

Then the M3 price would go down as well.... $9k

$8k if you brought your own Rims/Tires to drive it home, I would keep the contour reps with tires, and all the spare parts. if someone wants to buy those separate, $1k for rims/tires/any spare parts I have.

car also has a mint spare, probably put on the car once down in FL (only way i can say that is the tread on it is slightly used... but by slightly I mean hardly any at all) no scratches, pits, bends, curbage... brand new rim. it's a DSII rim without lettering (does that make sense?)

to demand that type of money you will need to present the car a little nicer

that posting is hap hazardly written and hard to follow.

Sorry my presentation of my car is not up to your standards.... I'll try to reword it... just trying to be straightforward about the car... I do tend to ramble on... ADD at it's finest.
and it's not like I'm ransoming my car... I am asking that much...

im just trying to help bro

http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1235685

thats a good car ad, goes over the basics - this car sold in less then a day

decent pictures, not some camera phone shots and outlines all the areas of these cars which it looks like you partially addressed.

things that help - full history, clear writing, great pictures, and a realistic price. If you are asking too much, good, be confident that the car determines that much value and explain WHY.

hope that helps.

I think he meant that you need to present a 12 year old, 185k mile E36M3 that needs work really well when you are asking $11k and yu can buy M3s with half the miles for the same price. From the ad, I thought the car was trouble that I would not consider touching unless it was ridiculously cheap -- seemed like this is a $6k car to me.

The head and the timing chains were replaced at 130k... This was dealer done down in Florida. the car does not look like it has 185k on it....

Am I not being very straightforward about the car?? .... I dont mind taking hundreds of pictures of the car, what you see is what you get... I posted 2 pictures that were taken 2 weeks ago... basically what it boils down to is people are whining (which happens on EVERY forum i've ever been on) that someone (ME) is asking "to much" for his car.... Sure... maybe it is to much... to me, its a good price. For all the work I've put into it, if a garage did it, it would cost double in repairs... if you don't like what I'm trying to sell then so be it... I do enjoy the criticism though so keep it coming.

I am pretty sure I stated that all the problems the car has now will be taken care of before the purchase.... Carpet will be replaced, ABS light will be put out, Airbag light will be put out as well, And ANY other issues with the car that would prevent it from being inspected will be taken care of before the sale... I guess I really don't know what else to say... so bottom line: If you dont agree with my price, I'm sorry.
PS> this car was trouble when I bought it last year, for $6k. Now I have put lots of new parts into this car within the last year, and I will continue to do so until it's sold.
