so i have been trying to search for this for a long time with little to no results I'm looking into getting another set of rims for my 94 325is
how big can i go will 20s fit? i have a set of bilstine shocks and struts installed with h & r springs i think its a 1in drop in the front and 3/4 in the rear but i saved the stock springs so i guess i could put those back in if that would allow me to run a bigger rim
any advice would be much appreciated

If you put 20's on your 3 series Chuck Norris, Technoviking and Bruce Cambell willstab you in your testicles.

20" will fit, but its waaaay to big. I would never god bigger then 18" myself.

Dude. If you want to do it, then do it. But 20" is waaaay out of scale for an E36, even 19s look way too big.

If you want a classy look without having teeny little stock rims, there's a ton of selection in terms of great looking 18" wheels with the 5x120 hub pattern that will fit your car.

I've seen (i wish had saved picture) an e36 with 20" Breyton Vision II on, so its possible! It looked ever so nice the rims, but to big. The Breytons are only made in 20" and bigger, as far i can read on there webpage, so it had to be 20" rims.

18's are the max you should go on an e36. Youll have to roll fender but anything bigger will rub, and the 18's will rub sometimes. 17 is the perfect size.
check these out, 16.9 lbs each!!! and they are chap at 175 each. And having wheels that light will make an epic difference in your speed.

^^^^ those are sick! But yeah op, 20's would just look plain dorky on a e36, and you would loose performance, but if you are gonna do that, its your choice.

IIRC, there's a member here that currently runs 20's. I have 18's and some people roll on 19's. I would suggest 18's for the biggest size. I want to be able to have tire to absorb impacts instead of running on rubber bands. But if you want 20's, by all means, go for it :D

nice Ur all proulby rite i would get them on the car and a mile down the road and b all pissed off at how slow and janky it would make my car

i was thinking about 17 in the front and 18 in the back is that worth it or just keep it all the same size

yea i looked around and found sum pics of 20s on the e36s i should just try and find the lightest 17s or 18s i can and stick with that

Kosei K1 are 16.8lbs in the 17x8.5" size

$175 at Tirerack. Lots of members here have them (including me). They look OK. Light and seem very durable considering their weight.

damn, I just posted the same info you quoted. Well, its good that you recognize that you would be upset with 20" if you actually put them on. Don't do it...

Here's the simple response to your answer: don't do it. I have 18's and sometimes those are problamatic. No bigger than 18's with an 8.5 offset. Wanna stagger? sure but again, 18 x 8.5 is the largest I'd go.

Anyone got pics of 19x9.5" wheel with 235 or 245 tire ? I'm trying to sell my 19" M3 EVO wheels to get DSIIs but need to get temporary rear tires so I can lower it more. 255/30s rub in the rear if dropped.

Not a threadjack ! LOL ! :devillook

Wow, this thread reminds me of a guy that came to a local meet. He asked if 20's would fit on a 5'er. We all just started laughing, NAHSAYN and WTFgerman know whats up
