Got stainless lips with a little rash. How can I fix the rash and more importantly(at the moment) keep it from rusting after it rains? Is there a protective coating available?

If your stainless lips rust, then you got ripped off. As far as fixing them, find a local wheel repair shop and have them grind the rash out.

Sounds like they are chrome plated steel.
Good quality stainless doesn't rust.

If they are truly polished, I recommend treating them with a polishing compound and applying protective wax to the surface to make cleaning and maintenance much easier.

Yeah they are polished. Its not much rust at all. Just a little reddish brown residue on the rash after a few days of rain. I wipe it right off. I'll look into the wax. Thanks!
