I am new to the forum and I need an education about what the e90 type references mean. I just took delivery of a new 335xi and I want to make sure I try and understand everything I can about my car.
So what are those references for?

E90 = 4-door Sedan
E92 = 2-door Coupe
E93 = Convertible
You're in the wrong section if you have a 335.
Crash course. You can get considerably more power out of your engine with a piggy back, but most will leave a code that will tell your dealer you have a tune. There is a device that will allow you to remove such a code.
Some popular tunes are:
SSTT which is pretty expensive for what you get, and pretty safe for preventing codes.
JB+: similar power to SSTT but adjustable boost levels to get more power at the risk of trpping a code.
The big guns are JB3 and PROCeed. They require you to get into the ECU (which isn't that hard), but you get considerably more power.
