The ride on my 2008 328 coupe is too firm in the front seats and absolutely punishing in the back seat. I wanted the coupe, so I had to take the sport suspension. What are the options for softening it up? Will the springs and shocks from the non-sport package 4 door fit?

sell it and get a mercedes if you want a softer ride.
driver's car, not a passenger's car

Some say that changing to non-runflat tires will soften the ride.

Tires may make a difference, but not sure if it will be enough. Go for 17" tire/wheel combo with all seasons rated for comfort rather than performance. If that doesn't work, unfortunately I don't think you have a reasonable option other than changing the car.
