Any 540 owners use 150r 20w50 Synth ?

Having some lazy lifter chatter still . Time for an Oil Change and talking with the shop about an appointment this week he reccomended 15w50 or 20w 50 if I couldn't find the 15..

I put Mobil 1 10w40 in my 540 this last oil change. I had previously put 15w50 the two changes prior to this last one but could not find it. Both weights seem to be just fine.

In reading the Red Line 15w50 data they don't reccomend using it in "street applications" or in cars which don't regularly exceed 225F oil temp... hmmm.. I do do a lot of highway driving,i'd say 80% of my driving is up around 60-80 MPH but in 5th and 6th gears the RPMs are not often over 4k another quandry,lol...

Just put 15/50 Mobil 1 this past weekend for the first time.

changing my oil this coming weekend, not sure which weight to get
the weather has been between winter/summer conditions every other day
hard to predict what she'll do next :rolleyes cold nights, hot days...in MA!

I have always used 5w-30 and have yet to have anything come up that would make me think I should switch.

I began with 10w30 and switched to 5w30 about a year and a half ago but this shop owner just a few minutes ago over the phone said he was looking it up and 15w50 was actually the recceomended oil for this car... or at least that's what I understood him to say and he wasn't speaking Phoenician.. It may be that my stating I had some lifter chatter still after tightening all spark plugs but only at Idle and it stops when the Rev's pick up prompted him to make this recco..
