I was at the yard today, saw a 740iL(e38??) and it had all the little shade thingies for the rear passenger and side windows, i've never seen it on a e34. has anyone done it? will it directly swap over?
can someone post some pics of theirs if they have it?

The glass may be a different size on the 7 and 5 series so the swap may not work. I am pretty sure I saw the shades listen in the ETK for the 5 series though, so it would be possible to do it anyway.

I'd rather blinds.

They were available as an option, but they're rare. They do pop up in Europe, along with the rear sunshade. Sounds like a good project for someone!

You need the corresponding door panels and door hardware, and all of the parts are specific to the E34 (though the E32 rear power shade can be made to work in the E34)

You could even get a fridge in the back seats as an option, couldn't you?

Why not just secure a little bar fridge in the corner against the back seats in the luggage area?

In my previous 525i the rear sunshade was automatic, had a button on top of the rear cigarette lighter.
Shades for the rear side windows are fairly available but expensive. Most of them are broken though.

As someone else mentioned...for what you get..other than the exclusivity...it'd be a lot simpler & cheaper to just tint the windows! :D
Rear door sun shade: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=HJ63&mospid=47414&btnr=51_2070&hg=51&fg=50

You need to get different #10s if you have the roller shades in the rear doors: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=HJ63&mospid=47414&btnr=41_0739&hg=41&fg=45

And you also need a whole different rear door "card" (#1) if you have rear door roller shades...you need the extra space at the top to fit the roller below/behind the upper door trim: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=HJ63&mospid=47414&btnr=51_3118&hg=51&fg=50

Yes, my euro-spec E34 has manual screens on the rear doors as well as the rear window.

ahhhhh quatrro that is nice.
it just popped into my mind yesterday. i might do it if i get some motivation,(if it falls in my lap) however i still need to tint them too. i just think they'd look baller. also, do you have the same parts as listed in the realoem diagrams? i see your door panels are different than what realoem says.
Oh and Parker if you have a digital copy of that manual, can you shoot it my way?
