I have an old stage 2 car that came with the kit on.. is the usual practice for drilling and tapping the oil pan to use a NPT thread?
the damn elbow in the hole at the moment seems to have been put in place by the hands of thor and we are worried that clocking it isnt going to happen.. we have already put a decent size wrench to it, but are worried its going to tweak the pan before the it moves..
so is it tapped? or does AA do something else? like braise it on from the back side?

tough to say, i would just remove it and weld on a AN bung.

I don't know of any bolt on kits that tell you to weld in a bung. That doesn't mean that people don't do it.

...I'd say someone tapped the pan and used JBweld on the threads. Try heating it to about 300degF and then unscrewing it.

Pull n weld, IMO. Especially because you have a lift..

Tapping the pan is underrated... I've tapped two of them without issue so far. Hell, both of mine are bone dry, one with probably 20k miles on it.

NPT taps won't leak and are very easy, but a weld bung is the more correct solution.
