e34 soundsystem woes

so this is the history


sound system died recently

replaced OEM amplifier and now all speakers work and only the radio works.

aftermarket alpine HU installed

the cd and ipod signals do not work.

PLEASE HELP!!!

You might have a faulty head unit. Or something is still amiss with your amp

How do you have the Alpine wired up? You should have the amp turn on lead powering the turn on lead in the vehicle harness, not the power antenna lead. I had the same problem, in cd and ipod modes the antenna isn't powered up so it isn't powering up the factory amp.

Disconnect the blue wire on the deck and wire the blue/white wire to what the blue is hooked up to now.
