Hello,

Does anyone have any knowledge of a cat-back exhaust or even a muffler than doesn't cost $1300 that is not a piece of crap or "fast and furious"?

I will keep the stock intake, though I am not opposed to swapping the filter to a K&N, etc.

Thoughts?

Just stick with a muffler, Catback can be kind of hassle. Look at Eisenmann mufflers. They sound great and are lighter than stock.

I looked into the Eisenmann exhaust. $1247 is a little steep. Thanks for the suggestion though.

You looking for sound or power? If you're just looking for sound, look into the muffler delete. Lots of folks on here seem to be a big fan of the ol' muffler delete...

Ahhhh, here ya go...

None of the exhaust for NA is really going to make any power.

If you look at the May issue of Grassroots Motorsports there is an extensive test of 5 or 6 systems for the 335i with dyno results. Not a perfect answer but might give you more information.

A little marketing trick insight.

When you dyno a car, any car the results vary...from 3-5hp. That's simply because each run is different and the engine/air temps will never be the same.

So lets say you take 3 dyno runs with a stock car and get

300
292
302

You can have a +7 HP difference with no changes at all.

You put an exhaust on and you get
295, 298, 303

All still with in acceptable error of the stock car.

But when you take the highest result and the lowest result you get a 11hp swing. Now is that really an 11hp bump in power? Who knows but you can tell people it is.

That's a very good point.
